"Worst RV Decal" Contest Official Rules

ELIGIBILITY: The JLS Decals & Signs Alberta’s Worst RV Decal Contest (“Contest”) begins on August 1, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. Mountain Time (“MT”) and ends September 24th at 11:59:00 p.m. MT (“Contest Period”). Only Worst RV Decals in Alberta, Canada are eligible for consideration under this Contest (“Alberta’s Worst RV Decal”). Worst RV Decal that have been a finalist in prior JLS Decals & Signs Worst RV Decal contests are not eligible unless otherwise decided by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Void where prohibited. Worst RV Decal owned by employees of JLS Decals & Signs (“Sponsor”), and its respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising agencies, public relations agencies, prize suppliers, including any vendors providing services in connection with this Contest (collectively, the “Sponsor Affiliates”), as well as employees, agents, representatives, leaders and administrators of a sponsor or a sponsor member, members of the Jury, members of their immediate family, spouse, mother, father, in-laws, grandmother, grandfather, brother, sister, children and grandchildren, anyone living at the same address are not eligible for consideration under this Contest.

NOMINATIONS: Anyone can nominate a Worst RV Decal for entry in the Contest starting on August 1st, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. MT through August 31st, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. MT (“Nomination Period”). Only nominations approved by the owner of a Worst RV Decal Contest or an authorized representative of such owner (together, “you,” “your” or “Owner”) will be officially eligible for consideration in the Contest (such Worst RV Decal are each called an “Official Entry”) — Owners can approve nominations of their Worst RV Decal by others via the steps outlined below in the “Official Entry” Section.

Individuals may nominate a Worst RV Decal as follows:

(1) Go to www.albertasworstrvdecal.ca (the “Website”) and follow the on-screen instructions to enter/nominate the Alberta’s Worst RV Decal

OFFICIAL ENTRY: For an Alberta’s Worst RV Decal to become an Official Entry, the Owner of the Worst RV Decal must do the following:

(1) During the Nomination Period, go to the Website www.albertasworstrvdecal.ca and follow the on-screen instructions to enter the Contest;

or

(2) If you are notified by the Sponsor that your RV has been nominated by someone else, you will be contacted and asked to participate in the Contest by submitting written notification and all information requested by Sponsor to the contact below — please note that the written notification and all requested information must be received by August 31, 2023 (“Entry Deadline”):

In order to successfully nominate and enter your Alberta’s Worst RV Decal in the Contest, you must provide all information requested by Sponsor via the Website or otherwise and meet the conditions set forth below. As part of the nomination process, you will be required to provide original photos of your Alberta’s Worst RV Decal (each a “Photo”). Limit one entry per individual Worst RV Decal. Illegible and incomplete entries are void and will not be reviewed. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, or misdirected entries or entries not received or not processed regardless of cause. Entries will not be returned to you.

By participating in this Contest, whether or not your Worst RV Decal is an Official Entry, you unconditionally agree to these Official Rules, Sponsor’s Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy located in the footer of the Website. By entering through any social media channel (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram) you agree to such social channel’s Terms of Use (www.facebook.com/policies/?ref=pf; https://twitter.com/tos?lang=en; https://help.instagram.com/478745558852511) and Privacy Policies (www.facebook.com/privacy/explanation; https://twitter.com/tos?lang=en; https://help.instagram.com/155833707900388), as applicable, which are hereby incorporated by reference. Failure to comply with the Official Rules, the Terms of Use, or Privacy Policy (as determined within the sole discretion of the Sponsor) will result in disqualification. 

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY: Your entry (including any Photo): (1) must be suitable for a general audience; (2) cannot contain any nudity, sexually explicit, disparaging, libelous or other inappropriate content (all as determined in the sole discretion of Sponsor); Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entry that violates the foregoing restrictions, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion.

You further represent and warrant to Sponsor and Sponsor Affiliates that (a) you own the RV pictured and discussed in your entry, (b) you have obtained the express approval and permission from any person who may appear or be mentioned in any way in your entry, and (c) Sponsor and Sponsor Affiliate’s use of your entry (including, without limitation, the Photo) will not result in the infringement of any copyright, trademark, right of publicity, privacy or other legal right of any third party.

WINNER SELECTION:

Selection of Finalists: At the end of the Entry Deadline, a committee of judges consisting of employees/representatives of Sponsor (the “Panel”) will evaluate all qualifying entries and will select up to five (5) Alberta’s Worst RV Decals as finalists (the “Finalists”). All decisions of the Panel are final.

Public Vote is between September 7th, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. MT and runs until September 24th, 2023 at 11:59:00 p.m. MT (“Voting Period”), visitors to the Website and the Sponsors social media sites will be prompted to vote for the Worst Looking RV Decals from among the Finalists. During the Voting Period, visitors may vote as often as they like, provided that they do not use software or other automated processes to submit multiple votes. Votes submitted by such means will be disqualified and disregarded. All results are unofficial until verified by Sponsor.

Winner Selection. On September 29th, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. MT at JLS Decals and Signs, 8702 100 St, Morinville, AB T8R 1K6, Sponsor will select one (1) RV as the Grand Prize Winner based on the results of the Public Vote. All decisions of Sponsor in declaring the Grand Prize Winning RV are final.

The Sponsor reserves the right to modify, suspend or terminate the Contest and these Official Rules, in whole or in part (including, without limitation, the above-mentioned dates, the Contest Period, the Nomination Period, the Voting Period and the date when the potential winner is selected), for any reason whatsoever, subject to the prior approval of the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux, if necessary.

PRIZES: The Owner of the Grand Prize Winning RV will receive a $6,500 credit towards the cost of Decal replacement (no cash value)  from JLS Decals & Signs. JLS Decals & Signs will customize, create, remove and install the new decals. Work will be completed by the spring of 2024. Included at no cost - winter storage while the unit is at JLS Decals & Signs location. The owner of the RV is responsible for suitable insurance and winterizing of the unit prior to being dropped off at JLS Decals & Signs. Prize package does not include replacement of raised decals, where applicable. Restrictions may apply.

NOTIFICATION: The potential Grand Prize Winner will be notified by available phone number or mail/email address as determined solely by Sponsor. To claim the Grand Prize, Sponsor may require you to complete, sign, and return Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability Release/Publicity Release forms, and other applicable documents, postmarked within ten (10) days of the date on the notification. In order to being declared a Grand Prize winner, the potential winner must first answer correctly, within the time limit set, an arithmetic skill-testing question, without any mechanical, electronic or other assistance. If a potential winner cannot be contacted, fails to answer an arithmetic skill-testing question correctly, does not claim the prize within the deadline, is excluded from the contest, does not sign and does not return the forms requested within the time frame established, and also if the prize notification is returned as undeliverable, another potential winner will be selected from the remaining eligible finalists, as determined by the Panel. The number of prizes awarded will never exceed the number expressly announced in these Official Rules, except at the sole discretion of Sponsor.

PUBLICITY & MARKETING: BY ENTERING THE CONTEST, YOU AGREE THAT SPONSOR AND THEIR RESPECTIVE SUBSIDIARIES, AFFILIATES, SUPPLIERS, DISTRIBUTORS, ADVERTISING/PROMOTION AGENCIES, AND EACH SUCH COMPANY’S OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, REPRESENTATIVES, AND SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS (COLLECTIVELY, THE “RELEASED PARTIES”) HAVE THE ABSOLUTE RIGHT AND PERMISSION TO PUBLISH YOUR ENTRY ON THE WEBSITE AND TO BROADCAST, PUBLISH, OR OTHERWISE USE (IN ANY OTHER CHANNEL OR MEDIUM) YOUR ENTRY, INCLUDING THE PHOTO, YOUR NAME, AND OTHER INFORMATION PROVIDED AS PART OF YOUR ENTRY FOR ANY COMMERCIAL, PUBLICITY, OR PROMOTIONAL PURPOSE WITHOUT LIMITATION, REVIEW OR APPROVAL, OR COMPENSATION TO YOU. BY ENTERING, YOU GRANT THE RELEASED PARTIES AN EXCLUSIVE, ROYALTY-FREE AND IRREVOCABLE LICENSE AND RIGHT (BUT NOT THE OBLIGATION) TO TELECAST, BROADCAST, COPY, EDIT, ADAPT, MODIFY, REPRODUCE, PUBLISH, CREATE DERIVATIVE WORKS OF, DISTRIBUTE, USE, OR OTHERWISE PUBLICLY DISPLAY ANY OR ALL OF YOUR ENTRIES, OR ANY PORTION THEREOF (INCLUDING ANY VIDEOS, PHOTOS OR OTHER CONTENT SUBMITTED OR PROVIDED TO SPONSOR), IN ANY MANNER OR MEDIUM THROUGHOUT THE WORLD IN PERPETUITY, FOR COMMERCIAL, PUBLICITY, OR PROMOTIONAL PURPOSES, AND TO LICENSE OTHERS TO DO SO, WITHOUT LIMITATION, REVIEW OR APPROVAL, OR COMPENSATION TO YOU.

NO LIABILITY & INDEMNIFICATION: Sponsor and Sponsor Affiliates are not responsible for, and entrants release Sponsor and Sponsor Affiliates from, any failures of any kind (whether caused by computer, technical, or human error) which may either limit the entrant’s ability to submit an entry, claim a prize, or otherwise participate in this Contest, or Sponsor’s ability to include all eligible entries, notify potential winners, or otherwise execute this Contest in the manner intended. Entrants further release and agree to indemnify Sponsor and Sponsor Affiliates from any and all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever arising from injuries, damages, or losses to persons or property (including, without limitation, real property and personal property) (collectively, “Liability”) which may be sustained in connection with this Contest including, but not limited to: (a) your participation in this Contest; (b) the receipt, ownership or use of any prize awarded; and (c) your breach of any of the terms in these Official Rules. Facebook, Inc., Twitter, Inc. and Instagram, Inc. are not responsible for, and entrants release all of them from, any and all Liability which may be sustained in connection with this Contest.

OTHER TERMS: Decisions of Sponsor and/or the Panel on all matters related to the Contest are final. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or modify the Contest for any reason, including but not limited to, if fraud, misconduct or technical failures destroy the integrity of the Contest, or if a computer virus, bug, or other technical problem corrupts the administration, security, or proper administration of the Contest as determined by Sponsor, in its sole discretion, subject to the prior approval of the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux, if necessary. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify or prohibit the participation of an individual if fraud or tampering is suspected, or if the individual fails to comply with any requirement of participation or with any provision in these Official Rules. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE OR UNDERMINE THE OPERATION OF THIS CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL & CIVIL LAWS. SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO DISQUALIFY AND/OR SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY INDIVIDUAL MAKING ANY SUCH ATTEMPTS TO THE FULL EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

RIGHT TO DISQUALIFY: Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify or prohibit your participation in this Contest if fraud or tampering is suspected; if you fail to comply with any requirement of participation or with any provision in these Official Rules; if the nature of your business and/or your behavior or communication at any point is disruptive, may or does cause damage or to any person, property, or to the reputation of Sponsor, or is otherwise not in accordance with all applicable laws and generally accepted social practices, all as determined in Sponsor’s sole discretion.

NO AFFILIATION WITH INSTAGRAM, TWITTER OR FACEBOOK: This Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Instagram, Twitter, Facebook or any other named or depicted people or entities other than Sponsor and Sponsor Affiliates. Any questions, comments or complaints regarding the Contest should be directed to Sponsor.
